Light sources
More compact, efficient and individualized. Compared to conventional incandescent light bulbs, which have practically not changed for more than 100 years, the energy-saving light source has undergone rapid development in just 30 years. The speed at which technological advances have taken place since then is breathtaking: the first light sources were long, slow and emitted only cool white light. However, they gradually became more compact and efficient. Today, customers can buy lamps that emit exactly the warm or cold white light they want. This is why energy-saving light sources often replace conventional incandescent lamps, which are now banned in many countries.
Osram offers an extensive and comprehensive portfolio of LED lamps that look and feel like traditional incandescent lamps. What is LED? It's a diode. Diodes are really high power today.
Halogen sources versus LED:
Halogen lamps, from small spotlights to large ceiling lights, have a shorter lifetime (approximately 2000 hours) and develop relatively high temperatures when lit. This can sometimes be a problem, but on a construction site in winter, for example, a warm spotlight may come in handy. Due to the higher temperature, the halogen lights develop a more intensely bright feeling. Lights with LEDs have a significantly longer life (about 10-30,000 hours) and their advantages include lower energy consumption.
Osram's MR16 and PAR16 LEDs are an ideal replacement, as opposed to previous LED lamps, the new models are produced in a size similar to their halogen alternatives. And thanks to the real glass sheath, they are very difficult to distinguish from halogen lamps, making them a perfect replacement. In addition, they only consume a fraction of the energy required by similar halogen lamps. These new bulbs can be dimmed, and the professional model can withstand up to 40,000 hours of lighting.
The efficiency, design and quality of all Osram lamps leave an impressive impression.
